New ACC @ YMCA ScotiaBank Place Now Open

It has been a while since our last post, only because we have been crazy busy organizing the new ACC location at the YMCA in ScotiaBank Place.

We have been in a full 2 weeks following a week from hell setting up from our move from the dome.

The room is amazing, here are a few pics:

We have 4 platforms set up, all of our Keiser equipment and cables, 4 Scorpions, and a whole new set up of Nike Sparq equipment for all of our footwork and plyo's. Speaking of plyo's you will notice the blue carpet, well this is gymnastic flooring, making it a great surface for doing footwork and jumping on. Additionally we have placed all of our ground based hammer strength equipment on the YMCA floor with their equipment, making our set up the largest around for functional training. It should make for a very productive summer of training.

Lorne Goldenberg Profile

Award-winning strength and conditioning coach and best-selling author, Lorne Goldenberg, is the owner of The Athletic Conditioning Center (ACC) and Strength Tek Fitness & Wellness Consultants, a corporate fitness chain that provides wellness and fitness to over 20,000 people in North America. He holds an honours degree in Physical Education from the University of Ottawa and is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.

Sought out by professional and prospective players in the NHL, CFL and OHL, Lorne brings over 20 years of experience of training athletes at a high performance level. As strength coach for the Montreal Canadiens hockey team, Lorne was instrumental in preparing the team for its long playoff run in 2010. Throughout his distinguished career, Lorne has also worked with the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, Ottawa Rough Riders, St.Louis Blues, Chicago Blackhawks, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, Windsor Spitfires, Owen Sound Attack, Ottawa 67’s and the University of Ottawa Football Team. NHLers Daniel Alfredsson, Daniel Briere, Corey Stillman, Zach Bogosian, Jeff Skinner and Matt Bradley are just a few who seek out his expertise. In 2009, Lorne joined former client Gary Roberts in his new pro hockey training business in Uxbridge Ont, where the client list includes Steven Stamkos, Mike DelZotto, Steve Downie and 23 other NHL and OHL players.

In addition to co-authoring the best-selling book Strength Ball Training, published by Human Kinetics, Lorne has had a numerous articles published in journals and magazines such as Men’s Journal, Physical, and Ironman. Strength Ball Training, co authored by Peter Twist, is now in its 2nd edition and has sold over 70,000 copies worldwide, and has recently been translated into Japanese, Spanish, and Portuguese.

As a conference presenter Lorne has established himself as one of the key sources for the major fitness and health conferences in North America. He has presented for such organizations as Hockey Night in Canada, Can Fit Pro, American Fitness Professionals & Associates, Dalhousie and Yale University, National Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association, Twist Conditioning, Perform Better and IDEA
